Kristie Sullivan's Low Carb JourneyDr. Kristie Sullivan appears regularly on our main stage at the LowCarbUSA® events.  She began her low carb journey in 2013 after a lifetime struggle with obesity.   At the age of 30, she had gastric bypass surgery, she has tried Weight Watchers, acupuncture, B12 injections, low-fat, low-calories, bromelain supplements, strict exercise, and more to lose weight.  Nothing worked for her until she found the Keto Diet.

She received her Ph.D. research in Educational Policy and Policy Analysis at North Carolina State University.  As part of her research she studied medical journals and this sparked her interest in nutritional science.  Then she read a book called Why we get fat by Gary Taubes and that was the turning point.  She adopted a keto diet plan by Dr. Eric Westman and the low-carb-high-fat lifestyle changed her world.  She says she finally experienced life untethered from the emotional attachment to food.

Her personal success inspired her so much that she wanted to help others learn how a low carb diet and clean eating can be a delicious lifestyle.  So she started teaching informal classes and when that got too big she started recording the classes.  When she didn’t have room to store her videos anymore her brother suggested she start a YouTube channel called Cooking Keto with Kristie.  She has also published a collection of easy, everyday recipes for the low carb diet.  Journey to Health: A Journey Worth Taking was her first book and she has another one coming out soon.

Kristie now has a growing following of over 100,000 loyal viewers who enjoy how she explains and simplifies ketogenic food.  She recently made a series of cooking videos for Diet Doctor.  In fact it was Andreas Eenfeldt from Diet Doctor who suggested we consider her as a main stage speaker at our LowCarbUSA® events.  Make sure you come and see her and get inspired.
