Rachel Gregory - Keto For CrossFitFor her Master’s Degree thesis in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology at James Madison University, Rachel Gregory decided to study the use of Keto For CrossFit athletes.  She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Miami and she is a Board-Certified Nutrition Specialist, Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach.  Rachel is the Founder and CEO of Killin It Keto, LLC and creator of the 21-Day Keto Challenge.

During her thesis on Keto For CrossFit, Rachel was surprised with the outcome showing the huge benefits that the athletes experienced with fat loss, performance increases and mental stamina.  Hear her complete interview in the video below.

We met Rachel at one of our events in Florida last year and she just recently she moved to San Diego.  After the LowCarbUSA® event in San Diego in August last year we introduced her to a local internal medicine doctor.  Dr. Brian Lenzkes had found the Keto Diet and experienced great results himself before the event but he was blown away after attending.  Suddenly he felt confident enough to advocate the Keto Diet and Fasting for some of his patients with spectacular success.  He says that in all his 14-year career has has not had one patient come off insulin.  Since the event 7 months ago he has already had eleven patients who have come off their insulin and other medications.

Rachel and Dr. Lenzkes found that they shared the same passion to reach the local community with this message.  They then connected with a local Cardiologist with whom Dr. Lenzkes had been a resident back in the day.  Dr. Bret Scher was also on board with the Keto message.  This added a legitimate voice to the conversation to deal with the questions about cholesterol that invariably come up.  Finally Jeff Kotterman joined the group to provide a further nutritionist’s perspective, especially in the arena of athletic performance.

Now they arrange seminars to teach people in the community about the benefits of adopting a Low Carb Lifestyle.  The first event is just finishing up and already so many people are reporting huge successes.  Now we just need to get a group like this going in every city and I will feel like we are starting to achieve what we set out to do.
